Five Dollars
I know doctors, lawyers, and scholars
Who haven't given a dime.
But somebody gave me five dollars,
So here's my "thank you" in rhyme.
Thank you for making me smile.
Thank you, whoever you are!
I've been praying for a while
And your fiver raised the bar.
You answered my prayer for a cheerful giver.
You showed me it's not about the amount.
God used you to bless and deliver
Five faithful dollars into my account.
I pray you are blessed beyond measure,
And that God overwhelms you with love.
He will bless you for placing your treasure
Not here on earth, but heaven above.
God could use more people like you,
Who don't turn away, but give instead.
I can't tell you what five bucks in God's hands will do,
You see, Jesus fed thousands with five loaves of bread.
This is such a testimony. Thank you for sharing.
whoa there lady…someone failed to mention that they write poetry…:-D haha. I approve!
It was humbling to receive it. I am so thankful they took the time to give, and I wanted to make sure they knew that 🙂
And A.J…. I write in rhyme from time to time 🙂
I like your poem – especially the ending. So many don’t believe that God still performs the same miracles he did in the old testament, and some of us just forget. Little reminders along the way are always helpful.
I agree, Rhayma!! I just think in our eyes it’s not a lot of money, but God can do amazing things with it. He is still a God of miracles.
