So debrief in Uganda rocked. I got to give a spoken word and act like a dinosaur, and make my hair into a beard. Don't be jelly.

Here are my girls and I, dressing up like men in our squad. I was Zach Cobos, duh. Erica was Josh Savage, and Bethany was Travis Lee. Deep down, we know our skit was the best.

We arrived in Rwanda and quickly realized we are much much more blessed than we originally envisioned. We have a Rwandan Papa who gives us lots of hugs, we have a very kind pastor, Pastor John, who we appreciate SO MUCH. We have Agnes, who is a teacher and is insistent on doing our laundry (what a blessing!).  Our accomodations? A house! With beds and a shower and a western toilet. One of the best places we've been to so far. We are up on a hill, and the views are incredible. Here's the house:

We also gained 2 new members in Team Arise! They are from the Exposure Program, and they'll be with us the whole month of July! I've been chosen as their host, and it's been such a blast getting to know them 🙂 Meet Leslie and Sharel!

Here's a little girl who came to hug me, wearing *dun dun dun* a CAT SHIRT. Had to get a pic of it. Epic.

By the way, I have 3 cat shirts I proudly acquired in Thailand, the land of cat shirts.

Bridget, the tiger.
Why do I think cat shirts are funny? Just trust me, they're funny. Okay sometimes I'm the only one who thinks they're funny, but regardless, you get the point.

This month we've gotten lots and lots of hugs and snuggles. The kids charge at us screaming "MZUNGU!!!!" and give us great big hugs. Mzungu means foreigner, or white person, or wanderer. It's going to be interesting transitioning back to the US, where black babies will no longer yell at me and hug me because I'm white. That might be my breaking point, yall.

Meet Spiderman. She's my girl. Adorable, usually sporting the superhero jacket.

I couldn't understand her name, because I don't speak baby language. I'm hoping to soon find out her name from an adult who can enunciate. Til then, she's the adorable Spiderman 🙂

That's all I have for now! More to come, of course. In the works: funny blog and a blog describing our ministry this month. In case you're wondering, I did not, in fact, forget about the entire month of Malaysia. I will write a blog about it very soon, with pictures.

Much love from Rwanda,
Helena aka Mzungu
