It’s surreal to log into this blog and write again.
10 years ago, I was on the field during month 5 of the World Race: Cambodia. It makes me smile how challenging that month was, particularly. I remember laying on the tile floor (because it felt cool) and reading the Old Testament. I remember food poisoning times 2, because I didn’t heed the warning and ate a burger at a no-no restaurant. Twice. I remember the students we taught, and how excited they were to learn. I remember the floating villages, and trying to wrap my mind around the vulnerability and poverty of the people. Life on a river, subject to bad weather, disease. I remember the killing fields, and the reality of evil. I remember the heavy feeling of a nation who had experienced genocide. 10 years later and I remember. My journals filled with pages.
In this decade, I experienced more ministry, discipleship, and so many dreams come true.
Phylla House started and paused. I joined CGA, became Adventures staff, went back to medical laboratory science (2 jobs, night shift) to pay off my debts, attended Bethel Atlanta School of Supernatural Ministry for a year (wow was it amazing!), moved to Atlanta, met my husband and dated for 2 years, got debt free, got married (5 years!), birthed two amazing daughters, became a stay-at-home mama, started a soap business called Wit and Bubbles, and now here I am: a wife, mama, and soap maker. We moved to Buford, GA and live 30 minutes from Adventures headquarters. We are co-leading a house church and serving at our local church. My husband is part-time staff at our local church and 24/7 house of prayer (formerly IHOP Atlanta).
There’s a new feature of Wit and Bubbles launching in June 2022. Missionaries who are fundraising will be able to purchase a fundraising kit with sample-size soaps for real-life smells, a catalog, online sales suggestions, and a customized link. At the end of the missionary’s campaign (4 weeks), they receive a check for 50% of the sales placed through their unique link.
My prayer is that the same strategy creating profit for local business owners (wholesale pricing) is useful for fundraising missionaries, and that King Jesus’s provision and joy are highlighted through my small business, for His glory.
